The City of London has a long history of courtyard gardens from Postmans Park to the Cleary Garden. The Garden Bench seeks to build on this heritage.

The Garden Bench is formed by different height platforms made from galvanized steel angles, the seats are made from external grade cork, an eminently renewable material. The plants have been chosen due to their sensory qualities, Camomile, Lavender, and two varieties of Thyme. Through its unusual form the Garden Bench creates different niches and pockets for visitors to enjoy.

The bench was manufactured and installed by us as part of the London Festival of Architecture.

The materials for The Garden Bench have been chosen due to their tactile qualities, aiming to enhance its surroundings both visually and through the sensoral qualities of the plants.
